Sediment Filtration for Wells in Eau Claire, MI

Sediment Filtration for Wells in Eau Claire, MI

Sand, silt and grit from a well wear out faucet cartridges, clog aerators, jam toilet fill valves and scratch the seats inside appliance solenoids. They also foul any well water treatment system downstream. Eau Claire, MI Well Water Treatment installs sediment filtration for wells in Eau Claire, MI.

The right filter depends on the particle size. Coarse sand drops out in a spin-down screen filter with a flush valve at the bottom, often rated 100 to 200 mesh. Finer silt needs a cartridge housing with a 20 or 5 micron pleated or spun cartridge. For heavy loads, a backwashing filter with a media bed saves you from changing cartridges every couple of weeks.

We also look at why the sediment is there. Sudden sand can mean a pump set too close to the bottom of the well, a failing well screen, or a pump that is oversized and pulling too hard. A filter will hide that problem for a while, so we tell you if we see signs of it.

Typical setup: spin-down first, then a cartridge, then the iron filter, softener or UV.
